Translation and validation into Spanish of the reflux symptom score in patients with laryngopharyngeal reflux.

Resumen
OBJETIVO: Crear una versión válida al español del cuestionario de síntomas de reflujo.
MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Estudio de tipo inferencial efectuado en un grupo de pacientes con síntomas de reflujo faringolaríngeo. Se tradujo al español el cuestionario original de síntomas de reflujo y al día 0 se aplicó a un grupo de pacientes el s-RSS (español-puntaje de síntomas de reflujo) y s-RSI (versión al español por Calvo, et al. 2018) y nuevamente al día 7 solo el s-RSS. Se recolectaron los resultados y se midieron la validez y la confiabilidad.
RESULTADOS: Se incluyeron 30 pacientes. Se obtuvo un alfa de Cronbach y correlación de Spearman mayor a 0.8 y un resultado significativo de la prueba U de Mann-Whitney, lo que da validez al cuestionario traducido.
CONCLUSIONES: Este cuestionario es un instrumento válido para evaluar y diagnosticar el reflujo faringolaríngeo.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To create a valid Spanish version of the reflux symptom questionnaire.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Inferential study conducted on a group of patients with symptoms of laryngopharyngeal reflux. A translation of the original reflux symptom questionnaire was made into Spanish and applied to a group of patients. On day 0, both the s-RSS (Spanish Reflux Symptom Score) and s-RSI (Spanish version by Calvo et al., 2018) were applied, and on day 7, only the s-RSS was reassessed. The results were collected and both validity and reliability were measured.
RESULTS: There were included 30 patients. A Cronbach’s alpha and Spearman’s correlation greater than 0.8 were obtained, and a significant result of the Mann-Whitney U test was obtained, confirming the validity of the translated questionnaire.
CONCLUSIONS: The translated questionnaire is a valid tool for assessing and diagnosing pharyngolaryngeal reflux.
