Resumen
La palabra reflujo deriva del vocablo latino re “regresar“ y fluere“fluir”. El reflujo laringofaríngeo se refiere al retorno del contenido del estómago hacia la laringofaringe. se cree que es causado por reflujo del contenido gástrico. Si bien el reflujo laringofaríngeo y la enfermedad por reflujo gastroesofágico (ERGE) comparten características fisiopatológicas, se consideran padecimientos distintos con síntomas y necesidades de tratamiento propios. en este artículo se sintetizan 26 referencias bibliográficas obtenidas principalmente de Ovid technologies y el portal de revistas Médicas Mexicanas. Abstract
The word reflux derived from the Latin word re“back” and fluere “flow”. Laryngo-pharyngeal reflux (LPR) refers to the return of stomach contents into the laryngopharynx. its origin is believed to be caused by reflux of gastric contents. While laryngopharyngeal reflux and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) share similarities in their pathophysiology are considered separate entities, with specific symptoms and treatment needs. This article summarizes 26 references obtained primarily through Ovid technologies and the portal of revistas Médicas Mexicanas. Key words: laryngopharyngeal reflux, gastroesophageal reflux disease.
